Modern ABA Specialist: Who Are They and Why Might Your Family Need One?

Working with children with autism and other developmental differences requires not only sensitivity and patience, but also solid professional training. Over the past years, I have walked a long path in education and clinical practice to support children and their families through science, effectiveness, and deep respect for each child’s individuality.

My professional journey began in the academic field: I completed postgraduate studies at the Faculty of Physics, earned a Master’s degree in Conflict Resolution, and a Master’s degree in Education. However, it was my work with children with ASD that became my true calling, and I decided to fully dedicate myself to this field—continually expanding my knowledge in Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA).

As a certified behavior analyst (BCaBA, CBA-S, IBA, Level 6 FTF Behavioral Consulting), I strive to combine a scientific foundation with warm, human-centered interaction.

In my practice, I:

  • develop individualized behavior intervention plans using tools like VB-MAPP, ABLLS-R, and PEAK
  • provide supervision and consultations for specialists and parents;
  • train colleagues through Olga Meleshkevich’s school, where I have been a long-term faculty member;
  • support children with ASD in developing speech, learning, social adaptation, and daily living skills.

My approach is based on the principles of modern, integrative ABA, which includes:

  • collaborative partnership with families as the foundation for effective intervention;
  • ethical and compassionate behavior support using PFA/SBT (based on the approach by Dr. Gregory Hanley)
  • structured development of verbal behavior and listener skills as key components of social and academic success;
  • consideration of the child’s academic needs when designing individualized programs;
  • support in expanding food variety;
  • building autonomy through the development of self-care, leisure, and learning routines;
  • teaching functional communication (FCT) as an alternative to problem behavior;
  • promoting tolerance and self-regulation skills throughout the intervention process;
  • generalization of skills—transferring what is learned to natural, everyday environments;
  • active involvement of parents in the learning process through training, supervision, and joint goal setting.

I am committed to lifelong learning: over the past few years, I have completed dozens of courses and webinars, including PFA & SBT, PEAK, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, the Balance Program, sleep and feeding behavior interventions, toilet training, and many protocols for developing speech and verbal behavior by Olga Meleshkevich.

My mission is not just to reduce challenging behaviors, but to help children and their families live fulfilling and meaningful lives. I’m happy to share my knowledge and experience in this blog—to make the path of parents and professionals a bit lighter, and their work with children more effective and joyful.
